This year, an old Chinese idiom, dating back all the way to ~660 BCE, when the Qi army got bogged down and lost after a late fall blizzard. Enter our hero, Guan Zhong, who advises his boss, the Duke of Qi, to let the horses guide the party home. Guan Zhong had a long political career, instituting reforms, developing a reputation as an ideal Confucian minister, and eventually earning the honorific of "Godfather", but is best remembered as the guy who got his people home by trusting an old horse.
