What are Scented Teas?
Scented teas are a unique and centuries-old tradition in the world of tea. These teas are made by infusing the leaves with delicate floral or herbal fragrances, giving them a distinctive and alluring aroma and taste. The process of scenting tea involves carefully layering the tea leaves with freshly picked flowers or herbs, allowing the natural oils and scents to permeate the leaves. Some popular scented teas include jasmine, rose, lavender, and chamomile, each offering a different and harmonious combination of flavors.
There are several ways green teas are scented with jasmine flowers. When manufacturers want to mask a poor quality green tea, they'll layer heaps and heaps of flowers in there, overpower the green tea. These tend to be overly floral and somewhat chemical tasting and just generally not great.
In contrast, our jasmine green tea is scented by placing finished green tea near piled jasmine flowers for up to three days. Thats why you'll find just the odd petal here or there - it truly is scented as opposed to buried in.
Is it OK to drink jasmine tea everyday?
Yes, absolutely.
Is all jasmine tea the same?
Not in the slightest. In addition to differences in quality, there are also several ways of processing Jasmine tea - notably a rolled variety called Jasmine Pearls, which these are not. Additionally, Japanese Jasmine Teas are very different, often starting with a steamed green tea. However, this jasmine tea is a stellar example of the kind favored in norther China - especially Beijing.
Does organic jasmine green tea have caffeine?
Yes absolutely. In general, for brewed tea, you can assume that white tea will have the least amount of caffeine, green teas perhaps twice as much, and the oolongs and black teas the most, at roughly three times the caffeine of white tea. And the most highly caffeinated teas have a bit less caffeine than the least caffeinated coffee, and a third as much as the most caffeinated coffee. Read more about Caffeine In Tea.
