This green tea, sometimes called En Shi Yu Lu, or Jade Dew (恩施玉露) is grown in the selenium-rich soil of the Wufeng Mountains in Hubei's Enshi Prefecture. Vegetal and buttery, it brews light and clear - reminiscent of fine Japanese Sencha.
Steeped normally, it produces a lovely pale green brew - quite light. A stronger cup may be obtained using more tea leaves, warmer water and a longer steep time. An excellent tea for those who want to enjoy a green tea without the punch that so many ordinary greens carry.
Our Yu Lu Green is pure whole leaf organic Chinese tea, Fair Trade certified and sublimely drinkable. A marvelous tea to accompany you throughout a busy morning and into the early afternoon, a tea both for the dedicated tea consumer and one for the casual tea drinker as well.
Yu Lu Green is available by 3.75 oz tin or by the pound. Wondering if you'll like it? Try a taste! Tasting samples are available for all our teas and good for at least two cups.
Please see ourBrewing Guidelines for more information.
...but Yu Lu green is my daily drink that never ceases to please. Thanks Little Red Cup!
I love little red cup, high quality organic loose leaf tea. I make one strainer full and steep it multiple times throughout the work day. Can't beat it
Very nice green tea! I experimented with water temps and amount stepped and prefer to steep about 1Tbs at 180 degrees for 2 1/2 minutes.
I normally get tea from China while traveling and from friends and family who travel to China. These Little Red Cup tea company products are the next best thing to being there, and the quality is as good or better. Just pay close attention to the brewing instructions. Read tips and tricks online, watch the videos and experiment a little. If you like honey in your tea, I recommend mild flavored honey so you can appreciate the subtitle complexities in the different flavors available. I’ve tried several types and flavors, and have enjoyed them all. I find Yu Lu Green to be mild in flavor with a nice caffeine kick. I brew it cool to keep the bitterness down and warm it up to drink it as hot as I can stand it. :-)
This is my daily drinker. I really enjoy how light the brew is and that even if I forget about it on the counter it is still delicious cold and not bitter. I'm trying new teas at the moment but I will definitely purchase this again when I run out.
