As concern for our friends in China shifts to concern for our friends and neighbors in the U.S. we wanted to take a moment to update you about what’s happening at Little Red Cup Tea during these troubled times.

We are, like many businesses, increasing the already high level of cleanliness with which our teas are packed and shipped. For the time being, we will continue our daily business of packing tea, shipping tea, and working with our colleagues in China - following any and all CDC guidelines that apply. Should any of this change - we’ll be sure to let you know.

Speaking weekly with our coop partners in China we’ve been relieved to hear that for them life has mostly continued apace - with disruption, certainly, but without calamity. Please rest assured that all the teas we’re selling currently were imported prior to the advent of this particular virus. Drinking hot tea, as it has been for thousands of years, is safer than drinking water given that it requires the addition of near-boiling water.

We often say that tea cures what ails you - and in these troubling days, this feels both true and paltry as a statement. Tea, sublime though it may be, will do nothing against the real and present threats of COVID-19. But, for the many healthy and homebound, feeling their way through this shared crisis - we think of tea as a much-needed solace. To the extent that we can, and while we’re able, we will continue to pack and ship teas to you.

If you have any questions or concerns please let us know and we’ll address them directly.
